    <br>Issus (lat.) is a genus of isoptera cicada from the (Fulgoroidea, Homoptera). More than 30 types.<br>Spreading<br>Palaearctic, most species are found in the Mediterranean.<br>Description<br>Forewings without hypocostal plate. Metope (forehead) in the upper part with a horizontal transverse keel. The body shape is compact, the head is short and wide. The wings are developed, the elytra are dense, short. The legs are short and strong. Among the host plants on which they develop are noted: Alnus sp. (Fagales, Betulaceae), Artemisia sp. (Asterales, Asteraceae), Corylus avellana L. (Betulaceae), Quercus (Fagaceae), Salix sp.
