    <br><br>Gulrypsh, Gulripsh (abh. Gәylryҧsh – Gulrypsh, cargo. გულრიფში – Gulripshi) Is an urban-type settlement in Abkhazia, in the Gulrypsh region of the partially recognized Republic of Abkhazia, according to the administrative division of Georgia – in the Gulripsh municipality of the Abkhaz Autonomous Republic, their center is located 12 kilometers southeast of the city of Sukhum on the shores of the Sukhum bay of the Black Sea.<br>Population<br>According to the 1989 census, the population of the village reached 10,697 inhabitants, of which for 38.4%, Russians – 36.4%, Armenians – 9.6%, Abkhazians – 4.1%. After the in the early 1990s, the population declined sharply.<br><br>According to the 2011 census, the population was 3910 people, of which 44.4% are Abkhaz (1735 people), 27.1% are (1058 people), 16.3% are Armenians (638 people), 5.2% – Georgians (202 people), 2.5% – Ukrainians (96 people), 0.9% – Greeks (36 people).<br>Infrastructure and attractions<br>There is a small church in Gulrypsha, which was built at the beginning of the 20th century according to the project of N.N.Smetsky.<br><br>Between 1902 and 1913, Nikolai Smetskoy built three sanatoriums for patients with pulmonary diseases in the Abgydzara area (now the village of Agudzera, which is part of the urban-type settlement Gulrypsh) and founded several parks with subtropical plants.
