McDonald’s x ONE PIECE Collaboration Comes to Japan!

Becoming the Pirate King and finding the One Piece is no easy task, so for the pirates on their search who need to take a food break, McDonald’s has you covered with an exclusive ONE PIECE collaboration!

The collaboration officially begins across McDonald’s in Japan on April 19th, 2023, with a special promotional trailer released for the event. This crossover focuses on the Chicken Tatsuta, a Japanese fried chicken-style chicken sandwich that’s sold exclusively by McDonald’s Japan. Two different flavors of Chicken Tatsutas will be sold alongside the collaboration: the original, which features a ginger and soy sauce seasoned fried chicken patty with shredded cabbage and a spicy creamy sauce, and an all new Chicken Tatsuta: the Grated Yuzu Chicken Tatsuta.

This new flavor features the same ingredients as the original Chicken Tatsura described above, but with the addition of an all new grated citrus sauce featuring three different kinds of citrus, diced radish, and tamari soy sauce mayonnaise. Both burgers can also be ordered with rice buns instead of regular bread buns, but only after 5pm.

Burgers aren’t the only new items coming to this collaboration, though; pirates can also grab new Butter Potato flavored “shaka-shaka” fries, which are french fries tossed in a bag with a special flavored seasoning. Two blue “Nami-colored” drinks are also arriving: the McFizz and McFloat, both featuring an ocean-blue color and a yogurt flavor.

The celebrate the launch of this upcoming collaboration, McDonald’s Japan is also hosting a Twitter giveaway, where entrants who reply to their tweet with a special hashtag are automatically entered to win a 1,000 yen McDonald’s gift card, featuring special exclusive art of Gol D. Roger and the Straw Hat crew.
