Try Various Yakisoba Dishes at the Grandprix Shokudo!

B1 Grandprix Shokudo opened on July 10th this year in Akihabara. Now they offer 4 different types of yakisoba, stir-fried noodles, so it was only obvious that we must go there and try them all!

The fact that B1 Grand Prix offers sampling different yakisoba dishes, and there are 4 types (500 Yen each) to choose from, is what makes this place so awesome. We were hungry and started eating before taking pictures, so please understand that originally there were a lot more noodles on our plates.

So here are our impressions of each dish:

Fujimiya Yakisoba:

We were a little disappointed to be served noodles that were cooked beforehand. Because the whole point in eating yakisoba from a stall is to get a serving of noodles hot from the pan. Nevertheless, we liked the fish flakes that were sprinkled on top, and the flat noodles which are not common in regular yakisoba dishes.

Yokote Yakisoba:

This looks like a typical standard yakisoba. Nothing too special. Or is it? The yolk of the egg is super soft. So by mixing the noodles with egg, the flavor changes and the yakisoba tastes even better. We really liked this one!

Namie Yakisoba:

This one has super thick noodles, like udon! The Namie Yakisoba really fills you up. If you don’t like spicy food, please make sure to tell them to hold the shichimi pepper!

Hiruzen Yakisoba:

This was the best stall type yakisoba of them all. The taste and scent of Sichuan pepper made this dish really stand out!

If you ever go to B1 Grand Prix Shokudo, all 4 yakisoba types are great, but we most recommend the Hiruzen Yakisoba!
