Sanrio is iconic for its wide range of adorable original characters, but none are more recognizable than Hello Kitty herself. That’s why, to celebrate Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary, an exclusive limited-time Hello Kitty-themed cafe will be opening in both Tokyo and Osaka!
This limited-time character cafe focuses heavily on Hello Kitty’s iconic red color, highlighting the menu, design, and goods with a strong red motif throughout each of them. The menu consists of a number of adorable, photogenic Hello Kitty-themed food, drinks, and desserts, such as a curry chicken sandwich, apple cream rice, Hello Kitty pancakes, and a variety of different pastries, parfaits, and more.
Several cute drinks, both hot and cold and modeled after Hello Kitty, will be making an appearance as well. Hello Kitty soda, strawberry milk, Kitty and Mimi drink, and a special cafe latte are some of the options available, each decorated in a way that reflects a Hello Kitty motif, and exclusive glasses and mugs are available for sale as well.
Those visiting the 50th Anniversary Hello Kitty Cafe who reserve their spots online in advance and purchase a food item off of the menu will also receive an exclusive, event-only square Hello Kitty pin badge, given randomly between 50 different designs. Those purchasing a certain amount of the cafe’s original merchandise will also be given a paper bag with an special design, and anyone visiting the cafe that posts a photo of their visit with the hashtags “#HelloKitty50thAnniversary” and “#HelloKittyCafe” will be given an original sticker.
Exclusive merchandise will also be available at the cafe’s shop, including keychains, mugs, coasters, bags, pins, stickers, acrylic standees, towels, and even mirrors, plus many more. All of these goods are decorated with special art and motifs that can only be found at the cafe during its run and are only available in limited quantity. The cafe runs from September 13th, 2024, to October 27th, 2024, with the Tokyo location being hosted at BOX cafe&space SHIBUYA109 Shibuya store while the Osaka location will be at the BOX cafe&space KITTE Osaka 2nd store.
