Calling all gamers and food enthusiasts! Final Fantasy XVI has arrived, and it’s not just the game that’s creating a buzz—it’s the delectable treats at the Square Enix Cafe in Akihabara. This renowned cafe, known for its rotating seasonal themes, is currently showcasing an array of themed food, drinks, and souvenirs inspired by the latest installment in Square Enix’s flagship franchise.

Step into the Square Enix Cafe, and you’ll be greeted by stunning artwork from Final Fantasy XVI adorning the walls, with captivating scenes from the game playing on the monitors. To add to the excitement, every order from the menu comes with a special coaster and placemat, a beloved tradition in Japanese video game and anime cafes.

The four placemat designs, received randomly with each food order, feature breathtaking key art from the game. Meanwhile, the 18 coasters, distributed randomly with drink orders, showcase the game’s iconic characters, including the eight Eikons, eight humans, and two Torgals (because who can resist a double dose of Torgal?).

Now, let’s delve into the Final Fantasy XVI menu. Prepare your taste buds for the Rosaria Stew, a tantalizing combination of chicken, onion, and potato, but no carrots, just like the characters prefer.

For dessert, indulge in the Sanbreque Rich Tea Chiffon Cake, accompanied by fruit, cream, and a sprinkle of matcha green tea powder. If pasta is your preference, the Waloed Seafood Pasta, enveloped in squid ink to reflect the darkness of its Eikon, Odin, is a must-try.

Craving something bold and flavorful? The Dhalmekian Oasis Cajun Chicken, seasoned with spices, garlic, and vibrant blue seaweed noodles, captures the essence of pure water in the desert. Other tempting options include the Iron Kingdom Volcanic Curry, with its fiery beef flavors, and the Torgal Purin Parfait, featuring a black sesame pudding base and a delightful pawprint marshmallow. Prices for these delectable dishes range from 1,280 to 1,400 yen.

As for the drinks, they are crafted based on the Eikons themselves:

  • Fiery Eikons Phoenix and Ifrit (energy drink base)
  • Ice Eikon Shiva (mint)
  • Lightning Eikon Ramuh (blackcurrant and thunderbolt candy)
  • Wind Eikon Garuda (minty gin and tonic-like non-alcoholic cocktail)
  • Earth Eikon Titan (café au lait, chocolate cookie pieces, and boba tapioca)
  • Light Eikon Bahamut (flavor undisclosed)
  • Darkness Eikon Odin (grape and blueberry)

The Square Enix Tokyo Final Fantasy XVI event is in full swing, running until July 7. Don’t miss your chance to savor the immersive flavors and experience the magic of Final Fantasy in a whole new way.
