It was just announced at “Hero Fes” on July 7th in Yokohama that the upcoming My Hero Academia film, officially titled My Hero Academia THE MOVIE -Heroes : Rising- will be opening in theatres on December 20th, 2019! Along with the official title and release date, the movie poster has also been unveiled.
The tagline on the poster reads, “You’re next.”
My Hero Academia mangaka Horikoshi Kohei will resume overall supervision and character designs for the upcoming movie as he did for the first one.
Horikoshi’s comments on the movie:
“This film can be considered as a sort of finale for My Hero Academia, as the story uses one of the concepts I had wanted to use originally for the finale battle in the manga.
I dare say that I won’t be able to continue developing past this point so there likely will not be a third movie. Probably.
Anyways, the second My Hero Academia film will be even more PLUS ULTRA than the last, so I hope you all enjoy it!”
