Professor Layton TV Anime to Air this Spring

Level 5’s Adventure game “Professor Layton” will become a TV anime! It’s called “Layton Mystery Detective Office ~Katory’s Nazotoki Files~” and will air in spring 2018.

The main staff has been announced too, including creative director, original story, series composition Hino Akihiro, anime production by Raiden Films of “The Heroic Legend of Arslan”. It will be directed by “Haikyu!!” series director Susumu Mitsunaka, and the characters will be designed by Takada Yoko.Protagonist Katrielle Layton will be voiced by Hanazawa Kana. She commented “I’m honored to be working with the first TV anime adaptation of the ‘Layton’ series. I’m looking forward to solving mysteries with Katory!!”

Story

“The motto of us Layton Detective Office is to solve any mystery.” Professor Layton’s daughter Katrielle Layton, together with her talking dog Shuro and Assistant Noa, works at the Layton Detective Office, solving mysterious incidents in London every day. Her job began with a search for her suddenly disappear father Hershel Layton but began getting more offers with her out-of-the-box method of solving mysteries.

“Layton” series is an adventure game series released for the Nintendo DS and 3DS. The first installment “Professor Layton and the Curious Village” was released in 2007, and the latest “Layton’s Mystery Journey Katrielle and the Millionaires’ Conspiracy” was released in July 2017.
