Pokemon-Shaped Crackers Arrive with Snack Collaboration!

Japanese snack maker Morinaga has long been known for its popular Ottotto crackers, which come in flavors like lightly salted and curry-seasoned. Typically, these crackers are shaped like marine animals, akin to Japan’s version of Goldfish crackers. This summer, however, Morinaga is giving Ottotto crackers a Pokémon twist!

Instead of just creating Pikachu-shaped crackers, Morinaga has crafted a diverse array featuring 75 different Pokémon species. This collection includes fan favorites and introduces new characters like Terapagos and Captain Pikachu from the new season of the Pokemon anime.

In a nod to the Pokémon games’ tradition of paired releases, certain Pokémon are exclusive to specific flavors of Ottotto. For instance, Squirtle and Blastoise can only be found in the salty version, while Charmander and Bulbasaur are exclusive to the curry-flavored Ottotto.

The breakdown is as follows:

  • 24 Pokémon exclusive to salty Ottotto.
  • 22 Pokémon exclusive to curry Ottotto.
  • 29 Pokémon available in both flavors, including Pikachu, Snorlax, and the starter trio from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

The packaging for these Pokémon Ottotto also features special artwork, making the snacks even more appealing to fans and collectors alike.

Fans are also given a special way to “catch ’em all” when it comes to the new collaborative snacks, setting up a special website where you can use your phone’s camera to scan the Pokémon-shaped crackers and receive a digital art card of the corresponding character.

The Pokémon Ottotto snacks are set to hit stores later this month, with no end time officially set but expected to only be around for a short time. Fans wanting to feel the fun of collecting Pokemon in an all-new way won’t want to miss this fun new snack collaboration, so grab a few from the store before they’re gone and see if you can taste ’em all!
