To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Final Fantasy XIV, Square Enix has partnered with California winemaker The Prisoner Wine Company to unveil an exclusive Final Fantasy XIV 10th Anniversary Collector’s Box of collaborative wine!
The Collector’s Box, adorned with chain illustrations as a motif common throughout the game, unfolds to reveal an image of the Warrior of Light, accompanied by a powerful quote from the character Venat: “Break your chains, shed your burdens, and show me your strength of will!”
Within this collector’s edition lies The Prisoner’s 2021-vintage Red Blend, a mix of Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Sirah, Syrah, Merlot, and Malbec grapes to produce a complex dry red wine advertised as having notes of raspberry, boysenberry, pomegranate, vanilla, cherry, chocolate, clove, and roasted fig.
The collaborative Final Fantasy XIV 10th Anniversary wine also offers an interesting design point on the labels, peeling them off to reveal an alternate design featuring the Warrior of Light. Regardless of whether you choose the original design or the hidden design underneath, both labels feature striking artwork that makes for an incredible display for any fan of the series.
This special edition is available for pre-order until January 19th, 2024 at Isetan’s Mood Mark online store here, and available at Japanese online wine shop Pieroth here from January 22nd, 2024.
