Tokyo’s Skytree, one of the city’s premier tourist destinations and the tallest structure in Japan, is now offering even more excitement with a special summer-long collaboration with the Pokémon that covers the entire observation deck!

This partnership celebrates the Pokémon Horizons arc, the latest installment in the Pokémon anime series, set in the Paldea region from the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.  Among the installments is a nightly video program at the Skytree Round Theater, elevators adorned with Pokémon artwork, photo spots, and displays highlighting the adventures of the cast of the series.

At the top of the highest observation deck, visitors can snap a photo with Captain Pikachu and friends, and The Floor 340 Skytree Cafe will offer themed refreshments, including Liko and Floragato Melon Sodas and Captain Pikachu Fizzy Ginger Mango drinks. Additionally, parfaits and cupcakes decorated with Pokémon designs will be available as well.

The entirety of Skytree will also be illuminated in Pokémon-themed colors every Saturday night and select other dates throughout the summer. The illumination will cycle through six color patterns: Floragato green, Fuecoco red, Quaxly blue, Captain Pikachu yellow, Terapagos purple, and Charizard red.

Exclusive Skytree-themed Pokémon merchandise, such as cookies, hand towels, tote bags, and key holders, will be available at the Skytree Shop on the first floor. This shop does not require an admission ticket. A Captain Pikachu mascot will also make special appearances from June 25th to June 28th and August 19th to August 22nd. Fans hoping to take photos with him will need to enter an online lottery.

The Pokémon and Skytree collaboration runs from June 25th, 2024 to September 24th, 2024, offering fans a unique and immersive experience throughout the summer. Those wanting to add a Pokemon touch to their Japan experience won’t want to miss out!
